Young Jersey Kennels is a small family orientated kennels that has been in action for 7(seven) years and running strong. We do not concentrate on a specific color like most kennels do, YJK has a variety of color and size. Our bloodlines consist of Razor's Edge, Gotti, Land of Giant, Clover hill/Hilltop, and York and all of our dogs are 4x registered Purple Ribbon bred ADBA (American Dog breeders Association, ABKC (American Bully kennel Club), UKC (United Kennel Club), and CKC (Continental Kennel Club). As you may know there are many pit bull breeders out the whether they are certified breeders or backyard breeders man pit pups are being put in dog pounds or killed so with that said YJK only breeds 2 (two) to 3(three) times a year so our females can recooperate and we do not add to the mass puppy population.

YJK Cokah and Colten

Our dogs are house kept because there apart of the family. Our puppies that we produce and raise here are sold with all registration papers, health certificate, up to date shots and deworming, leash, collar, dog bowl and starter food. Not to mention they are potty trained (remember they are still puppies and will need additional encouragement and training)

HISTORY OF THE BULLY BREED

The American Pit Bull Terrier is a dog created in the early 1800's for
the sport of dog fighting. It was created and designed to be the
ultimate gladiator, yet, man's best friend. This breed was designed to
be able to out do any other breed in it's physical strength and
stamina. These dogs were created to uphold what it's called
"gameness". this is the ability to keep going when all else fails.
It's a mental state that made this dog the ultimate fighting machine.
These dogs were also created to instinctively never to harm a human
hand, even in the heat of battle. They were the ideal athletes and
competitors, and the most stable and human tolerate breed in
existence. Eventually the sport of dog fighting was outlawed and
deemed inhumane. The breed was left with out being able to perform the
task in which it was created. This left the breed with the only
purpose to be man's best friend.

Another breed spawned from this breed with the purpose to be a
competitor in conformation shows. This breed adopted the name, The
American Staffordshire Terrier. It was created solely from the
American Pit Bull Terrier, but with a new purpose. These dog
eventually became larger and fuller dogs and had a more mellow
temperament.

About 10 years ago some breeders decided they wanted to take the breed
in another direction. They bred for the athletic muscular build of the
American Pit Bull, but the size and mass of the "Am. Staffs". These
dogs were not bred to be as dog aggressive as the Pit, but not as
passive as the Am Staff. They were bred for personality, character,
energy, drive, unlimited stamina, and that confident stability. They
were to have the look of a buff athlete. Through generations of
breeding they developed a new look and it adopted the slang name
"Bullies". This was the start of a new breed and a new era for "The
American Bully". The standard for the bully is a medium height and
length. They should have larger blocky shaped heads. Muzzles should be
relatively short and blocky. Their chest should be wide and deep with
a look of power. Shoulders should be set wide and have a muscular
definition. Their rears should be thick and muscular. This breed
should represent strength and power from head to tail. When you look
at these dogs you should immediately know that it is an "American
Bully".

THE HISTORY OF GOTTILINE

Gottiline was founded by Richard Barajas of West Side Kennels. He is
the owner of Gottiline's foundation sire, "The Notorious Juan Gotty".
In 1997, he purchased Gotty from a gentleman by the name of Tony
Moore. (Tony Moore is the owner of Gray Line Kennels in Los Angeles,
California. The foundation bitch of Greyline was the late Showtime.
Showtime is the producer of Gotty's father, 'PR' Greyline's Raider 2.)
He purchase Gotty for the amount of $1,300. When Gotty was
approximately 7 weeks old his sire, "Raider" passed away. When Gotty
was 7 months he sired his first litter. He went on to produce many
foundation males and females including Coldens Blue Rhino, and Felony
(The sire and dam of 21 Blackjack), New Trojan's Dillenger, Pate's
Blue Beast, Gottiline's Monster, Do Good Big Boy, and Westside's
Capone just to name a few. Gotty is the sire of nearly 650 U.K.C.
registered American Pit Bull Terriers. Since 1997, Gottiline has
spread across the USA, Canada, China, the Philippines, and Japan. Juan
Gotty will go down in history as one of the greatest dogs in the bully
style movement.

Positive press

Some work in hospitals and care facilities as certified therapy dogs, many are well-loved family pets, and some have even saved people's lives. There are many instances of Pit Bulls being productively employed by U.S. Customs, as police K9s.

Pit Bulls have been reported in the news media as "adopting" other species of animals, such as kittens. This is one possible origin of the breed nickname "nanny dog".However, it is more widely accepted that the "nanny dog" nickname comes from Pit Bull-type dogs' innate love and tolerance of children.

A rescued Pit Bull called Popsicle is a United States Customs dog, and is famous for sniffing out one of the biggest cocaine busts in history.

Dakota and Tahoe were certified pit bull search and rescue dogs who participated in over 200 search efforts for lost and missing people including such high profile search efforts as the search for Laci Peterson and the recovery efforts of the astronauts who lost their lives in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. Because of their heroic work the two pit bulls have been featured on Animal Planet, National Geographic, and have received countless awards.

In April 2007, columnist John Canzano of The Oregonian newspaper wrote a favorable piece on Hollywood, the Pit Bull that formerly belonged to NBA player Qyntel Woods. Hollywood, renamed Stella, was adopted by a loving owner and reformed from a fighting dog to a lap dog.

Nearly fifty Pit Bulls were seized from Michael Vick's dogfighting operation in 2007. Of those dogs, one was euthanized because of aggression issues. About half were sent to Best Friends Animal Society, a Utah animal sanctuary, where they are receiving care and behavioral training. The others, which were behaviorally evaluated as being suitable candidates for adoption, went to various other groups. Bay Area Dog lovers Responsible About Pit Bulls (BAD RAP), transported thirteen of these dogs in an RV across the United States to Oakland, California, where they were placed in adoptive and foster homes. BAD RAP detailed the timeline of the dogs progress, from initial evaluations to fostering and adoption, on its website.

During World War I the breed's widespread popularity led to its being featured on pro-American propaganda posters.

The Pit Bull is the only dog to have appeared on the cover of Life magazine three times.

Before you buy a pit bull pup you must understand your not just buying a dog! Your are buying a loyal friend, adding to your family, hiring a security guard, and becoming and ambassador for the breed. Many people in the world are totally mislead by the news and media on American pit bull terriers. You must educate yourself about the breed and dogs in general so you can inform those who fear the breed due to their bad rap. Please educate yourself on our breed and I encourage you to watch Cesar Milan The Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic Channel. Well with that said enjoy our site and please comment.
